Reviews on TripAdvisor also stated that the sunbeds were free as long as you ordered something. I had a peach iced tea, which I slowly sipped, and then got a ham and cheese pita and small water when I left. All in all, I spent less than when I had to pay for a chair that was not as nice, and an umbrella, on another beach on the island which shall remain nameless at this time!
If you read my post Beaches by Bus on Skopelos Island in Greece, you'll find two other locations used in the movie--Milia beach, and Agios Ioannis chapel--both definite musts when you visit the island.
I don't just go to the beach when I visit an island; I also enjoy the marvelous food at restaurants like...
Now, if I had studied Google Maps more carefully, I would have seen how far it was. When I first started walking along the coast, I was optimistic. It couldn't be that far. I kept walking in the heat. Still didn't see a sign. Kept walking, but was now skeptical. Finally, in the distance I thought I saw an M. I walked a little faster--Muses. Time to celebrate (it is a Celebration Saturday, after all)!
The meal was delicious. I ordered grilled octopus and fried zucchini, and the tzatziki on the side was excellent. I think the octopus was one of the best I've had. Combined with their masterful service, I can see why they are ranked #1.
I took another of TripAdvisor's suggestions, and tried to eat some of the skopelitikes tiropites (Skopelos' cheese pies) at Mixalis', but unfortunately he was closed, both at 3:30 p.m. when I arrived, and first went up the hill to find his cute little cafe, and then at 6:15 p.m., after I finished at Muses. It made me a little mad the second time, since a store owner, where I bought some souvenirs, had told me he would reopen after 6. Wasn't meant to be. Another place to go with my hubby! A delayed celebration!
Today is M is for Movie, so I leave you with one last photo of my favorite...
What words, that begin with the letter M, do you think I should include for teachers?
