The second night, we dined at Far East. I entitled my TripAdvisor review Chinese Fusion, since the food we enjoyed had a twist to the Chinese food we were used to in the U.S.
But, right now instead of tourists, the island has had an influx of refugees from Syria and Afghanistan over the past few months, and is ill-equipped to deal with the situation.
Kos is not alone. Reports indicate that over 100,000 immigrants have arrived in the eastern islands of Greece in 2015.
Add this to the current economic situation in Greece, the resignation of the Prime Minister this week, upcoming elections (again) in September, and many tourists may be reconsidering Greece as a destination.
My official comment: This time next Friday, I will be in Greece, for a month, visiting all of my favorite places in Athens and Andros island, and making new memories with friends and family when we visit Delphi, Meteora and the island of Milos.
I love Greece. Greece depends on tourism. Let's increase tourism to Greece, and get up close and personal with its beauty!
