We were all hungry. Breakfast (does coffee count?) was long ago, and we were passing lots of quick service kiosks, and inhaling all of the hunger-inducing aromas. I had been to Yak & Yeti's once before, when my husband and I had dinner there the year we splurged and bought an Annual Pass to Disney World. I offered my suggestion. My daughter and her boyfriend agreed. Only a 25-minute wait...we can handle that. Our name was called before the 25-minutes was up, and we were escorted to the second floor to a table with a view. I have to say, without a doubt, everything that we ordered at Yak & Yeti inside Disney's Animal Kingdom was yummy.
It was a very warm day in Orlando (I didn't mind at all since I was vacationing from the Netherlands, where in March it still felt like winter)! Needless to say, we all relished a nice cold drink. Yes, it's lunch. Yes, two of those are alcoholic--guess which ones! I usually drink red wine, but this Pinot Grigio was heavenly; it tantalized my taste buds and cooled me down! All three drinks hit the spot as we waited for our appetizers to arrive. |
We all loved the unique Wok-Fried Green Beans with a sweet Thai chili dipping sauce. Though I am a huge fan of fried zucchini, I have to admit, these were quite delectable. We all recommend them!
We ordered: (1) the Chicken Tikka Masala, (2) the Crispy Honey Chicken, and (3) the Orange Beef, for our main courses. Everything was so appealing, we dove right in when the dishes arrived. About 2 minutes later, I exclaimed, "I forgot to take pictures!" Sorry! All were excellent though, and the portions so large, that we took leftovers with us. If you prefer smaller portions, order an entrée and split it with a friend or family member. Here is the Yak & Yeti Menu. Something for almost everyone!
Something that I really admired about the restaurant, and Animal Kingdom in general, was the use of these paper straws, made in the USA. They offer a much more eco-friendly solution than plastic straws, for the safety of the animals in the park. Though my daughter did find her straw difficult to sip through after a while, the bottom line is, you can always sip from the glass itself!
Next time you're visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom, step inside Yak & Yeti's through its heavy, ornate door (left). I don't think you'll be disappointed; of course, that's only my opinion! But, my daughter and boyfriend agree--so now that's three! You can make reservations using My Disney Experience, THE Must-Have Travel App for Disney World that I told you about in a previous post. It's great for Dining information, in addition to FastPass+. See if you can get a table on the second floor with a view! |
