The lounges would be full during the day, and in most cases would cost about 10 euros for 2 chairs and an umbrella; at night, most chairs are empty and free--perfect for reclining, relaxing, and thinking about all of the people and events that made you happy this week. The beach bed (right) looked inviting too! | Remember that Spiritual Sundays are all about taking some time to reflect and think about all that you are grateful for, and give thanks. Take a walk today, to a set destination, or try a new path along a beach, on a walking trail, or even in a coverered mall if it's a rainy or snowy day. I love the little wooden paths along and through many of the sandy beaches in Greece. Though they help to keep your feet off the hot sand during the day, this one looked so inviting for a evening reflective walk. Of course, there are always benches, and this one (left) had a perfect view of the beach, calm sea and beautiful colors in the sky after the sunset. |
The evening was full of relaxation, and quality time with family. My husband and I do not get to Greece as often as we'd like, so spending time with relatives when we do visit is important to us. Here's my husband Nikitas (below) with his cousin Nikitas--both named for their grandfather--Nikitas. (The child naming tradition in Greece will be a whole other blog post--coming soon!)
